Job Description
A Leading Sports Group are looking for a Video Content Manager to join their team working on engaging content across all media on and off-line.
JOB PURPOSE
The Video Content Manager is responsible for the formation and delivery of the video content strategy for group. The post is responsible for and supported by a team of producers, editors and camera operators. The jobholder will deliver the video output of the Group across multiple platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Plan and manage the effective delivery of video content across the club's media channels 2
* Researching and contributing to the overall content strategy to include all platforms
* Managing the production team to maintain the highest possible video standards to deliver
content to inform, entertain and expand our fanbase
* Responsible for managing the delivery of the International Programme Block to the club's
broadcast partners and for ensuring it meets the broadcaster and audience needs
* Liaising and collaborating with all departments to ensure that content objectives and standards are reached
* Managing the curation of video content across all platforms, ensuring it reaches the target
audience via the most applicable delivery method
* Liaise with internal club departments to ensure the media group reflects the wider club objectives
* Work with internal club departments to deliver on briefs to support internal communications
and commercial objectives
* Establishing and maintaining external media relationships such as with Sky, NBC and the BBC
* Leading the planning and execution of 'Club Day' filming
* Leading the planning and execution of live match audio visual coverage
* Leading the creative direction of the club's video output
* Managing the video team to ensure all shoots and edits are resourced to requirements
Specific Experience:
* Experience managing editors, camera people and ancillary production staff
* Experience leading a creative team in a competitive sector
* Experience dealing with external providers and agencies
* Experience of making key editorial decisions within high profile environment
* Experience in leading a project through all stages of production
* Understanding of the main trends affecting the development of content creation and
distribution
* Experience in working to a broadcast standard
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:
* Excellent communication and writings skills
* Project and management skills - able to successfully manage diverse teams -
reviewing performance as required
* Good knowledge of key technical developments within sports media
* Advanced producing and team management skills
* Original and creative thinking. Able to produce new content ideas or adapt existing
ideas within the restrictions of club media
* Knowledge of emerging trends in media and content
* Awareness of the rights issues that govern a club media business
* Ability to deliver content in a complex organisational structure
* Ability to lead and effect creativity in a fast-moving environment
* Strong planning skills are essential due to the volume, rate and profile of the output,
and the ability to display flexibility in the face of external factors is also key
* Ability to understand and act on analytics and audience data
