Freelance Senior Media Production Controller needed ASAP. On-site London 5 days per week on-going.


Ongoing with no set end date - should be 1 to 3months +.
Paying 150 per day to freelancer.

The role of Media Production Controller is required to support the delivery of creative projects for my client's business; specifically, their Magazine, on-line content and ad-hoc projects when required. The role will sit in the Publishing team and be instrumental in helping to push productivity and ensuring brand consistency.

Key Responsibilities:
Working with the editorial and advertising teams manage the issue requirements through the flatplan ensuring that we are constructing publications in the most economic fashion
Own and maintain the print order confirmation and distribution documentation for publications
Copy chase advertising requirements liaising with creative agencies for both print and digital assets
Process supplied advertising materials once delivered through our advertising portal
Maintain specifications and relating data requirements for the on-line advertising portal, updating when required
Upload print specific creative into flatplan workflow tool ready for supply to our print partners
Review briefs to ensure concise details are captured and the full scope of request have been
submitted, including specifications and quantities
Manage creative assets and produce on-going marketing materials: direct mail, brochures, POS,
magazines inserts and other ad-hoc promotional material as required from receipt of brief to design layout, copy and approvals
Deliver regular status updates on projects to completion whilst managing expectations and
delivery requirements
Plans schedules for projects in alignment with production activity by liaising with the wider Media
Production Team and forecast any budgetary or resource requirements in advance
Co-ordinate briefing, trafficking and approvals for daily digital and print marketing creative across channels ensuring this aligns with wider business themes and objectives

Ensure all digital assets, including promos, emails, push, video social media assets, app and paid media assets are delivered in a timely manner
Agree stakeholder approvals and manage this process for all digital marketing creative on daily
Build strong relationships with internal teams including art, copy, subs, translations to ensure a smooth process
Work closely with publishing team to understand all briefs/requirements for all digital marketing assets to maintain a positive approach in delivery

Skills and Experience:
Proven experience working at production controller level or higher within a fast paced magazine
publishing, agency or marketing environments
Comfortable managing complex print projects from inception to final delivery
Experience of analysing costs and recommending improvements to budgets
Commercially aware, aptitude for numbers with experience of collating and analysing costs and
providing estimates for creative executions
Strong time management skills and comfortable meeting tight deadlines
Excellent planning ability. Able to work to tight deadlines. Able to organise workload to meet conflicting priorities
Leadership - Ability to forge strong relations with stakeholders at all levels, acting as an ambassador to ensure a professional and customer friendly profile for the department
Relationship & Influencing - Excellent inter-personal skills. Strong persuasive communicator
Negotiation skills - confident negotiating at all levels
Innovation & Creativity - able to think creatively and find innovative solutions to problems
Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite - Mac and PC Based

Desirable Skills:
High end consumer magazine production experience in both print and digital a string advantage
Direct marketing production experience
