Job Description

Global Marketing Operations Manager

Our client is a global and privately owned financial and investment firm. They are looking for individuals who takes great pride in their work and are inspired and motivated by their role. A rare opportunity has come up in their UK offices for a Global Marketing Operations Manager.

This is a critical and core role to the future development of the Marketing Team. You will be responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the Investor Marketing infrastructure and operations across the US, Europe and Asia. You will manage a global team to:

  1. ensure maximum effectiveness of the growing team and marketing technology infrastructure to be able to better support the business teams in achieving their growth and retention goals
  2. help enhance, harmonise, and ensure adherence to, Marketing processes and procedures to achieve maximum efficiency
  3. ensure Marketing's compliance with their best practices, policies and procedures


Some of your key responsibilities include:
Leadership and Collaboration

  • Directly manage, develop and coach a team of individuals based in US, Luxembourg and London, including marketing analysts, event planners and desktop publishers
  • Develop collaborative working relationships with the following groups that also support or are directly involved with their Marketing activities:
    • Event Planning in Boston and New York
    • Enterprise Services in Europe and Asia
    • Marketing team in Boston for budget and ROI activities
    • Head of Marketing Technology in the Marketing team in Boston, globally responsible for Marketing's sales enablement platforms
    • CRM Team based in Luxembourg, Boston and Dublin


Marketing Technology

  • Working with Marketing, manage marketing technology, monitoring and continuously improving the content and structure of their internal global sales and marketing platform,
  • Become the Marketing Expert for their marketing technology to ensure proper usage, and diagnose areas for process improvement

Data Gathering, Reporting & Analytics

  • Manage and enhance the process of gathering and analysing marketing ROI & other performance measurement statistics working closely together with the Marketing team
  • Perform benchmarking comparisons and competitor analysis
  • Help produce bi-annual Marketing ROI evaluation reports


Risk Management & Control

  • Evaluate, enhance, manage and update Marketing policies and procedures to ensure adherence and consistency across the group globally
  • Be responsible for record retention activities for Marketing across all three regions
  • Manage annual Marketing audits performed by Compliance and Internal Audit across Europe, Asia and the US


Vendor Management

  • Manage and improve the vendor management process for Marketing
  • Oversee vendor budgeting tracking and support


Budgeting Support

  • Help onboard a new Marketing budgeting tool globally
  • Support the marketing budget tracking process and year end budget planning process
  • Manage and improve Marketing's invoicing process



Project Management

  • Help manage ad-hoc Marketing infrastructure projects which could include but are not limited to:
    • the PowerPoint template redesign and conversion process as well as annual updates
    • helping coordinate ongoing updates by Marketing Managers to their website and supporting the new website redesign project in 2019
    • evaluating and implementing a booking system for internal client's marketing requests


Education level and/or relevant experience(s)

  • At least 5yrs' experience in an operational, change management or similar functions
  • At least 5yrs' experience directly managing resources; ideally managing resources located in other time-zones and countries
  • Experience in Marketing or Communications roles would be a strong advantage
  • Experience in event management would be an advantage
  • Experience of Salesforce, Marketo, SAVO, Seismic or similar technology
  • Experience handling budgets and reporting with ability to not only gather the appropriate data, but also glean insight to improve the performance of marketing programs
  • Experience in, or understanding of, financial services would be an advantage

Knowledge and skills (general and technical)

  • Strong people management skills
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills to be able to monitor and prioritize multiple activities at once
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a high level of initiative
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast pace and high-growth environment with tight deadlines and shifting priorities, and be willing to "roll-up your sleeves" to push organizational change
  • Attention to detail and complex processes
  • Ability to work well with variety of different people at all levels of the company
