Job Description

We have a really exciting opportunity for a hands-off Creative Lead to join a leading non-for-profit organisation. You will lead the in-house creative team to create audience-led, innovative and engaging content that is driven by insight and contributes to the organisational objectives. Their offices are based in London and they offer hybrid working.

You will provide creative direction/strategy to ensure they become the leading experts in accessible and inclusive design, ensuring their target audience is at the heart of all their content.
 
You will play an integral role in bringing teams together and sharing expertise to create ambitious and successful internal and external activity which takes us closer to achieving equality for all people.
 
Main responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire the creative team with a focus on continual learning and development. Play an active leadership role in model behaviour for colleagues.
  • Work closely with colleagues to elevate our external engagement activity, showcasing the impact of our work on the people's lives and our vision of equality for all.
  • Work with teams to identify and unlock the creative potential in all of our creative work, delivering inspiring and compelling activity that is co-produced.
  • Build a network of creative talent, working closely to evolve our brand and ensure everything we do has people with lived experience at the heart.
  • Provide training, coaching and facilitate learning and development opportunities for teams, increasing understanding of our brand, and sharing expertise.
  • Review and interrogate the success of our content alongside the Creative Services Manager. Apply these evaluation insights to the development of future creative projects.
  • Champion accessible and inclusive design and proactively promote its importance internally and externally.
  • Lead, develop and present concept presentations to stakeholders.
  • Maintain high performance levels, quality output and smooth production processes within the creative studio. Oversee workflow and continually refine systems.
  • Work with the Brand Lead to ensure high quality and consistent implementation across the organisation. Support in the development and evolution of the brand identity to boost brand positioning.
  • Oversee a roster of talented freelance photographers, film makers and copywriters to meet all content needs.
  • Be a guardian of the brand by ensuring best practice in tone of voice and visual identity application.
  • Work alongside the Marketing Leads and Brand Lead to ensure the successful delivery of multichannel campaigns
  • Deputise for the Head of Brand and Marketing when necessary
 
Knowledge and experience
Essential
  • Experience of leading and motivating a team to produce high quality creative work.
  • Experience of managing an in-house creative studio with knowledge of creative workflows with clear sign-off.
  • Enjoy building constructive and collaborative relationships at a high level, able to negotiate, influence and build credibility.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with stakeholders across a complex organisation, bridging gaps between Communications functions and other teams.
  • Experience of providing creative direction to in-house teams, agencies and freelancers on how to interpret brand guidelines, and ensure all outputs meet required standards.
  • Experience of providing creative direction for large-scale marketing campaigns and flagship products, working both in-house and with creative agencies to interpret briefs and ensure creative output reflects organisational objectives and brand strategy.
  • Enjoy building constructive and collaborative relationships at a high level, able to negotiate, influence and build credibility.
  • Understanding of accessible and inclusive design principles and how to implement them.
  • Experience of contributing to the development and implementation of processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness particularly within a creative environment.
  • Experience of coaching and running training with colleagues, establishing trust in teams' expertise and the added value that a Brand and Marketing team bring.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the brand landscape in the charity sector.

  • Proven ability to think creatively with experience of encouraging creativity and innovation amongst colleagues with demonstrable results.
  • Ability to prioritise and deliver high quality work and bring people along on key decisions.
  • Team development skills, ensuring the team are motivated, supported and managed to meet their potential.
  • Confident in pitching and presenting with senior stakeholders, able to influence through a combination of strategic insight and strong relationships.
  • At the forefront of new design trends and skills.
  • Experience using design software including Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience of copy editing and management of copywriters.
