Account Manager

Our client is looking for an Account Manager to join a well-know design agency based in London. As the Account Manager you would be the clients' principle day-to-day contact, responsible for managing the detail of the projects to ensure they run as agreed between your client and the internal team. Your contact with the clients enables you to begin to forge real partnerships with them and you find yourself getting to know them on a personal level, socializing with them to build even stronger relationships.

You'll work closely with your internal team within account management, design and production; This will include:

  • Managing your projects; Commercial project management
  • Go-to person for the day-to-day client contact, available for your client always and responsible for responding appropriately to manage the client's expectations
  • At any given time, know and be able to update stakeholders of project status, timings and costs and any other news about the client relationship
  • Own the retainer scope and tracker and create work stream project plans for your client relationships, communicating changes and the impact of these to the team and client
  • Responsible for overall project timelines - always aware of key dates, keeping the team and client informed when things change.
  • Manage project status and when there's a change in project scope ensure that team is made aware
  • Invoice project and retainer fees on a monthly basis and raise additional project costs or changes
  • Prepare weekly financial reports and budget status updates
  • Have a thorough understanding of their design and brand philosophy and use this to explain decisions to clients
  • Write and deliver design briefs and get sign off from your DM
  • Managing your client and the internal team
  • Align expectations by having up front, and potentially challenging conversations with clients, in the moment
  • Raise any concern about your project to the AD, as soon as possible
  • Inform the internal team, including Partners, of potential issues that may impact the overall
  • Manage and guide them in their responsibilities within Production Management
  • Articulate the role of the production team and artwork principles to the client so that they understand how print restrictions impact design Meetings
  • Ensure all meetings for your projects are properly arranged including travel for all team members
  • Work with the team to prepare all meetings including briefing the internal team of the purpose of the meeting and list of attendees
  • Take notes in every meeting and write or review the contact report for approval by the AD before circulating them to the client
  • Set up and close the meeting - making introductions, reconfirming the times and summarising
  • Have strong personal relationships with your client peers and attend social events with them when the appropriate opportunities arise
  • Read about your client's business and keep informed of their business performance
  • Circulate relevant industry news on a weekly basis to your project team, sharing a point of view
  • Identify and attend events relevant to our work including competitor client events, and develop
  • Articulate how their works and what our expertise is to prospective and new client team members to help embed the relationship
  • Talk to your client about what's new within the company context of their business as a way to open up new opportunities
  • Work with the Client Development Director on new business pitches and proposals
  • Have productive and effective relationships with people at every level of the business
  • Provide mentoring and on-the-job training to Account Executives and Interns, giving them ownership of work streams within projects you oversee, as appropriate
  • Manage individuals who join us for work experience by making introductions to other teams members they'll be working alongside and ensuring they enjoy the experience
  • Identify and acknowledge personal strengths and weaknesses of yourself or with the help of others and use this knowledge to develop your capabilities
