Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct usability studies and in-person moderated user testing

  • Identify usability issues and produce clear, actionable recommendations

  • Communicate findings effectively to design and engineering stakeholders

  • Collaborate with developers and multidisciplinary teams throughout delivery cycles

  • Operate proactively within agile workflows and iterate quickly on research outputs

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in user research and usability testing including in-person moderated studies

  • Understanding of user-centred design principles and digital interaction

  • Proficiency with Maze and common research tools (Qualtrics, UserTesting.com, Optimal Workshop)

  • Confident testing physical, digital and immersive prototypes

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Legal right to work in the UK

  • Ability to work on-site at Gaydon 2-3 days per week

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with automotive UX constraints including driver attention and distraction principles

  • Basic understanding of accessibility best practices

  • Experience with eye-tracking or behavioural analytics tools

  • Previous exposure to working with developers or cross-functional design teams

What's On Offer:

  • Hybrid working from West Midlands

  • Fixed-term contract through to March 2027

  • Work on next-generation EV vehicle development

  • Collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment
