Retail Marketing Account Manager
Reports to: Account Director
Project management
• Prepare project budgets, estimates and proposals – ensuring accurate estimating of hours / time in relation to the project is forecast
• Liaise with the Studio Manager to ensure adequate resources are available for your clients’ projects and fed into a live studio management system
• Ensure all project documentation is up-to-date, including estimates, budgets, purchase orders and schedules at all times
• Monitor hours estimated and spent for all projects, informing clients and increasing estimates where needed
• Provide briefing and liaison with studio for all projects from start to finish – ensure all designers are fully prepared before beginning all jobs
• Liaise with the client to ensure project milestones are met, meetings attended and that they are happy with the services and design provided.
• Ensure all projects are invoiced in a timely fashion and that the live accounting documents can be examined at any point
Account management
• Directly manage key retail marketing / shopping centre accounts
• Develop strong, trusting client relationships
• Development of annual cross platform marketing strategy for retail clients, including the distribution of annual budget in accordance with this
• Advise clients on ‘best practice’ approach to all projects involved with the signed off marketing strategy
• Liaise with local and national PR companies to achieve KPI’s of the specified marketing strategy
• Updates to websites involved with the retail marketing strategy
• Monthly presentations to clients at management meetings showing current figures / KPI’s achievements in relation to the marketing strategy – e.g. “footfall increases”
• Management of other aspects of retail marketing, for example “signage”
• Keep up-to-date fee forecasting documentation on all accounts, ensure all live documents portray accurate costings for the business whenever needed
• Stay up-to-date on trends, developments and news in the retail, design and digital arenas
• Feed into the social media strategy, displaying active interests in “all things design”
New business development
• Work with the Directors to identify opportunities within existing clients
• Prepare presentations for and attend credentials meetings (where appropriate)
• Assist on project pitches (where appropriate)
• Maintain contact with ‘warm’ leads
• Identify and write relevant project case studies
Management
• Directly manage Account Managers ensuring clear objectives are set for them and feedback given.
• Assistance given to Account Mangers with client liaison, completion of all aspects of the Marketing Strategy and development of relationships with all aspects of the team.
• Provide day-to-day support and guidance to Account Managers, ensuring all briefing procedures, liaison with the Studio and monitoring of hours / profitability is being adhered to.
• Attend weekly management team meetings reporting on business development, client satisfaction and fee forecasting
• Seek improvements to business and project efficiency
• Actively foster a culture of creativity, open communication and constructive criticism
Experience
• Working in a design agency/studio environment is essential
• Working on cross platform retail marketing projects is essential
• Experience in shopping centre marketing in an advantage
